溴化丁苯橡胶的制备及其对聚苯乙烯阻燃性能的影响

摘要: 以1,2二氯乙烷(EDC)为溶剂、三氯化锑(SbCl3)为催化剂、氯化溴(BrCl)为溴化剂制备了溴化丁苯橡胶(BSBR),探究了溴化剂用量对产物中溴含量的影响规律;通过溶液法将制备的BSBR与聚苯乙烯(PS)进行共混,利用热失重分析仪、极限氧指数仪、锥形量热仪等测试,研究了溴含量及BSBR含量对PS材料阻燃性能的影响。结果表明,溴化剂BrCl的用量为70 mL时, BSBR中溴原子百分比最大为33.17 %;添加BSBR可有效改善PS材料的阻燃性能,且BSBR分子结构中溴含量越高,越有利于提高PS的阻燃性能,其极限氧指数最高可达30.8 %;当BSBR中溴含量一定时,随BSBR含量的增加,PS材料的极限氧指数增加,燃烧时的总热释放量减小,不完全燃烧产生的一氧化碳(CO)释放量增大。

Preparation of Brominated Styrene-butadiene Rubber and Its Flame Retardant Effect on Polystyrene

Abstract:Brominated styrene-butadiene rubber (BSBR) was prepared by using dichloroethane as a solvent, SbCl3 as a catalyst and BrCl as a brominating agent. The effect of BrCl dosage on the bromine content of BSBR was investigated. Subsequently, BSBR was mixed with polystyrene by a solution method, and the effect of the bromine content of BSBR on the flame-retardant properties of PS composites was investigated by thermogravimetric analysis, limiting oxygen index (LOI) and cone calorimeter. The results indicated that BSBR achieved a maximum bromine atom percentage of 33.17 % when the dosage of BrCl was set as 70 mL. The introduction of BSBR could effectively improve the flame retardancy of PS. The higher the bromine content in BSBR, the better the flameretardant effect on PS. As a result, a maximum LOI of 30.8 vol % was achieved for the flameretardant PS. Moreover, LOI of the flame-retardant PS increased with an increase of BSBR content, but the total heat release of the combustion decreased. In addition, the release amount of CO increased due to incomplete combustion.
